A truly unique outdoor vacation activity! You get it all with this picture-perfect horseback riding experience. Cross ranch pastures with breathtaking panoramic views of mountains and ocean. You might find yourself riding through our herds of cows, calves and horses along the way. After you tie-up your horse, your adventure continues with a short 10- to 15-minute hike down a steep trail with steps and handholds, through a tropical forest with views of a lush valley and sounds of cascading falls. You will be awed by the power of our fern-lined 80-foot waterfall and the peacefulness of the setting. Take a refreshing dip in the waterfall pool, where you can explore the views on ledges behind the falls or simply float to your heart‘s content. Savor the flavors of our freshly made and delicious picnic lunch. Afterward, if conditions permit, return to your horse via a different hiking trail, complete with a crossing atop the falls, a short rock climb and yet another scenic waterfall setting perfect for one more photograph.

Private Guide

Personalize your riding adventure on Kaua`i with a private trail guide from Princeville Ranch. You will work with your guide to arrange the sights and experiences you want to have. This ride allows for the possibility of some trotting or cantering, if the guest is determined to be capable of doing so with complete safety. You can come on your own, or bring friends or family members to share this experience with you. Enjoy your guide‘s full attention and informative discussions of Ranch history, flora and fauna. The 3-hour Private Ride includes a waterfall hike, swim and picnic.

Ocean Bluff Vistas

This is truly a 360-degree experience! The four points of the compass bring four distinct views. Ride out on our "makai" or ocean-side lands, to see the dramatic bluffs. With the majestic Hanalei mountains behind you, cross open green pastures to reach several overlooks of the vast blue Pacific and Anini Reef, the largest reef in Hawaii. Look to the East and see the historic Kilauea Lighthouse and bird sanctuary. Look to the West to Makana, made famous as Bali Hai in the movie South Pacific. This 1 1/2 hour riding adventure gives you some of the best scenery Kaua'i has to offer, at a relaxed and enjoyable pace.

Paniolo Cattle Drive

We offer the only cattle drive ride on Kaua'i and are the only horseback riding company based on its own cattle ranch. We offer you the real thing! Our working cow/calf operation is home to a herd of over 500 animals and has historical roots dating back to 1831 when the first 100 Longhorns were imported to the area. Every 5-10 days, depending on conditions, we move our herd to new pastures. You are welcome to join us and try your hand at being a paniolo, or Hawai'ian cowboy. This is truly an unforgettable adventure, where you can learn about, and take part in, cattle ranching Hawaiian style.
